My Favorite Beatle
My favorite Beatle is John Lennon -- always has been. I don't think he's perfect, and I don't "love him for his faults." I don't believe I'm a reincarnation of him, and I don't believe he watches me from the afterlife. I don't have delusions about marrying him, and I don't try or want to be like him. He's fucking talented, he's fucking hot, and he's fucking hilarious. That's why he's my favorite Beatle.
Favorite Songs (Beatles):
And Your Bird Can Sing, Good Morning Good Morning, Help!, I'll Cry Instead, I'm A Loser, I Am The Walrus, I Call Your Name, I Don't Want To Spoil The Party, I Should Have Known Better, It Won't Be Long, Rain, Revolution, Revolution #9, Strawberry Fields Forever, There's A Place, Tomorrow Never Knows, You're Going To Lose That Girl, You Can't Do That
Favorite Songs (Solo):
Beef Jerky, Bring On The Lucie (Freda People), Cold Turkey, Dear Yoko, God, Grow Old With Me, Happy Xmas (War Is Over), Hold On, How Do You Sleep?, How?, I Know (I Know), Imagine, Instant Karma, Isolation, John Sinclair, (Just Like) Starting Over, Look At Me, The Luck Of The Irish, Mother, My Mummy's Dead, Nobody Loves You (When You're Down And Out), Nobody Told Me, Oh Yoko!, Serve Yourself, Steel And Glass, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Tight A$, Watching The Wheels, What You Got, Woman, Working Class Hero
Quotes:
"When in doubt, fuck it."
"I don't mind writing or reading or watching or speaking, but sex is the only physical thing I can be bothered with anymore."
"As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot."
"I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people."
"Music is everybody's possession. It's only publishers who think that people own it."
"Part of me suspects that I'm a loser, and the other part of me thinks I'm God Almighty."
"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination."
"Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted."
"When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream."
"You don't need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!"
"You have to be a bastard to make it, and that's a fact. And the Beatles are the biggest bastards on earth."
"Nobody controls me. I'm uncontrollable. The only one who can control me is me, and that's just barely possible. And that's the lesson I'm learning. If someone's going to impress me, whether it be a Maharishi or Yoko, then there comes a point where the emperor has no clothes 'cause I'm naive, but I'm not stupid. For all you folks out there who think I'm having the wool pulled over my eyes, well, that's an insult to me. But if you think you know me, or you have some part of me because of the music, and then you think I'm being controlled like a dog on a leash because I do things with her, then screw you, brother or sister, you don't know what's happening. I'm not here for you, I'm here for me and her, and now the baby."
"If The Beatles or the 60's had a message, it was 'Learn to swim. And once you've learned - swim!"
"When I was a Beatle I thought we were the best fucking group in the goddamn world, and believing that is what made us what we were."
